Hatch-Bourne House (Boxwood Club, Nimrod Restaurant), Falmouth, Massachusetts / razed summer of 2020. The oldest parts dated from 1750 and had been struck by cannonballs fired from the HMS NIMROD during the War of 1812.
> After a long fight, the historic Nimrod building on Dillingham Avenue has come down.
>For years residents have tried to preserve the building, which in its lifetime had sustained battle wounds, a transplant and years of serving as a restaurant. Through hefty fundraiser campaigns and pleas to preserve history, locals have fought a proposed demolition since 2013.
>But following a decision by the Historical Commission in June to waive Falmouth’s 12-month demolition delay, the building was demolished July 2, with only its chimneys left standing.
>For many, the demolition is bittersweet. The building, with its crumbling structure, leaky roof and broken windows, was dilapidated. Many called it an eyesore that needed to be replaced.

Why would they destroy a buliding with such history? Hasn’t 2020 been bad enough?
