Most were destroyed in the aerial bombing of Hannover during WWII. A few survived but were bulldozed later so that a road could be widened post-war.

Please don’t take this as me discounting the loss of life as a horrible outcome of war, but it also makes me sad to see historic buildings destroyed as a result of war.
I just finished a trip through Asia and 3 of my stops were South Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong. I’m kind of a history buff and many of the shrines and palaces we visited had plaques saying something along the lines of “This is a rebuilt building, the original was destroyed by bombing” or in Korea “The Japanese demolished this palace as punishment for Korean resistance”.
All wars eventually come to an end but the loss of historic buildings, especially when intentional is denying future generations their heritage.

Wow, so surreal seeing the House you live in in reddit.
But also so sad seeing what it used to look like.

Waddle and dod construction was never really good at sticking around, not without a lot of upkeep.
