    This castle is considered to be one of the most important preserved medieval castles in the world, the site inhabited first by the Kurds who were brought by the Idrisians in the eleventh century to protect the trade lines before reaching a settlement; As a result, it was known as Fortress of the Kurds.

    Syria was on my bucket list to visit. Such an amazing country. Is that Krak des Chevaliers? I thought the curtain wall was distinctly different

    just For clarification. There is a difference between this castle. And the Kerak Castle that is in Jordan.
