Exactly 50 years ago, on the morning of June 13, 1970, Hotel Continental in Gothenburg, Sweden was demolished by dynamite. The hotel Scandic Europa now occupies the lot.

    The hotel itself was closed in 1949 and a car agency took over the premises. But it was still known under its old name.
