Eltz Castle – A medieval castle nestled in the hills above the Moselle River between Koblenz and Trier, Germany. It is still owned by a branch of the same family – the Eltz family – that lived there in the 12th century, 33 generations ago. It is situated on a 70-metre (230 ft) rock spur.

    I just want to take a moment to throw a pity party- we were going to go to Germany for my daughter’s 16th birthday, which was 7/22. Eltz was on our list of sites to see, so I should be there ‘today’ but we’re stuck at home!

    And before I catch hate, we are taking social distancing and covid very seriously, it just sucks.
