Drake Hotel in NYC, an iconic Manhattan hotel with a rich past. Built in 1929, demolished in 2007 to make way for the infamous 432 Park Ave skyscraper.

Didn’t even realize that this is what they tore down for that garbage can. Gotta love the modern developers in NYC drastically ruining the place. The new monstrosity is visible over 50 miles away.

I kinda like the new tower though even though it’s solely for the super rich. It looks cool on the skyline and helps bring nyc into the supertall age.

I wonder what happens when it comes time for these buildings to be demolished? Not buildings like drake hotel, but those like 432 park. How do you exactly demolish something that huge in the middle of the city?

Why couldn’t they just update everything? Make it into condos with new updated designs but maybe incorporate some of the original aspects and do the same with the outside
