I’d be curious to read contemporary articles about building the one on the right when it was proposed. Did people see the one on the left as representing stuffy old people and want something modern? Or did everyone hate it back then too?

Maybe it’s just the angle but apart from being devoid of any personality or outstanding features, it looks completely accessible as well.
