I’ve taken this old photo of Spasskaya Tower in Moscow Russia (part of the Moscow Kremlin). The highlighted areas were destroyed by Soviets during the 1930’s, as they began deleting centuries worth of Russian history. On top of Spasskaya Tower was the Russian Imperial Two-Headed Eagle (coat of arms of Russia), it was not take down surprisingly after the creation of the USSR, it was only until the 1930’s when they decided replace it with the ruby red stars of communism that is still seen today on the top of the tower. Behind the walls of the Kremlin were the Chudov & Ascension Monasteries (destroyed and replaced with the ([kremlin Presidium](https://c8.alamy.com/comp/AE2BPB/presidium-government-building-kremlin-moscow-russia-AE2BPB.jpg)), and on the side of the Spasskaya Tower were two chapels that were also demolished during the same time as the monasteries.
