    Cool link and photo. I could only image the heat of the reflected light at the focus point of that reflector, and that is not even talking about a Tsunami, or any rise in the sea level, and how you would evacuate.

    There is an underground “skyscraper” somewhere that was built in like the 60s or so. I just can’t recall where. I want to say somewhere in Africa.

    “defy earthquakes” – hmm, the floors could still collapse, in which case you’re now trying to dig people out of an enormous well of debris, instead of a pile. Still, I guess it’s a convenient way to pave over and start anew…

    So if a fire happens you have to escape towards the surface, where all the smoke is also heading. Don’t see how that could go wrong.
