Dalkeith Palace, formerly Dalkeith Castle, in Dalkeith Scotland. Now hosts university students from the United States who participate in study abroad programs.
Dalkeith Castle was first built in the 12th century, and was renovated into a castle in the early 1700s. It was used as the seat of the Duke of Buccleuch until the 1900s. During that time it has hosted many dignitaries, including Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1745, King George IV in 1822, and Queen Victoria in 1842. When the Duke of Buccleuch relocated his base of operations to another estate, it was used for a number of different activities. Polish soldiers lived and trained here during WW2, a technology company leased it during the 1970s, and since 1985 it has been home to study abroad university students while they live and learn about Scottish culture.

I’ve visited a friend who was studying there. It’s rather exquisite inside as well. High ceiling rooms, little side spiral stairs here and there, very grand. Worth a visit if you get the chance!
