This might be breaking a rule or 2 since what was built is still standing but the above image shows the Fisher Building as it would look today had the original 1928 plan been completely built. The building would have been 60 stories tall and streched the length of an entire city block.

The part that was built sticks out like a sore thumb in that part of town. I can only imagine how hilarious it would be to have the taller version surrounded by single family homes and low rise buildings.

I never knew this. I grew up being able to see the top of the Fisher building at night from my grandparents back porch. My grandpa always told us kids that it was where the Lone Ranger was born. It was first broadcast on radio from here, but we didn’t know that. We thought it was literally where the Lone Ranger was born.
