Most of those houses look pretty good. Also you have other cities which are well preserved. Tallinn has more Swedish architecture than Stockholm because Sweden decided to destroy the whole central part of the city to create a modern city business centre.

Hmm… Looks pretty good and rebuilt to me. Especially after being bombed and destroyed.
It may have lost some of the original charm but this is the best "rebuild" I’ve seen. It still looks charming.

Tbh I wouldn’t want to live in a house built in 1890 where the walls are made by questionable materials and gas/water/electricity/private toilet are considered a luxury. I had the joy to live in a pretty old flat (built around 1920), it was kinda pretty but moved to a modern one (~1960) as soon as I had the chance.
