Central Station was the main passenger terminal in Chicago for the Illinois Central Railroad from 1893 until 1971. Located at the south end of Grant Park near Roosevelt Rd. (12th St.) and Michigan Avenue, it was closed in 1972 and demolished in 1974. »

    One thing I don’t get is why they build a defensive wall that overlooks a cliff. Like, isn’t the cliff a wall that would make it hard for an invasion? If you’re worried about people climbing the cliff lowkey, just smooth out the cliff walls and have scouts on top.

    Visited this in May to see the museum of the resistance. Was a fun stop on a drive from Luxembourg to Lyon. Beautiful area and the citadel is really impressive. The overlook on the area is great. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone. The museum is primarily in French but there are headsets for English as well.
