Has the castle been simplified over time, or is the painting exaggerated?

The medieval depiction is from the Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry. The work also depicts other royal palaces such as the old Louvre. There are quite a lot of pictures on wikipedia, however does anyone know if there is a full text online?

Rich white people living in gorgeous unnecessarily extravagant countryside homes while pregnant women work the fields and men forget to wear pants over their tall blue socks…sad to see not much has changed since the 15th century
