    I went 7 years ago and was a little disappointed with the cheesy tat all the vendors were pushing on tourists

    This obviously isn’t Dracula’s real castle, mostly on account of Dracula being a fictional character. Stoker never visited and did not base the castle in the novel off of this one. However, it is the castle the people of Romania have embraced as his castle and it brings in a ton of tourism to the area. It’s also the most fitting castle based on where Jonathan Harker travels and based on the vibes of Bran. It’s a bonus that Vlad Țepeș’s family owned the castle at one point though it’s unlikely he ever lived there. One of the most fun days of my life when I got to visit.
