Can’t help but notice the similarities between Corfe Castle in Dorset, England (top) and Château de Loches in the Loire Valley, France (bottom). Has there been any study on this?
Castles were pretty standardised by age. One type of design would become popular and spread through a lot of western Europe before being replaced by another design.
