Brühl Palace in Warsaw. First built in 1639–42 as a private residence, served as the Embassy of Russia and later France, as the residence of the Grand Duke of Russia and finally used by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Destroyed by Germans in 1944.

    Hundreds and hundreds of years worth of incredible architecture was lost in that war. It makes me sad to think about it too much.

    I think I remember that there were plans to rebuild this. Not sure what’s happening now.
