Prominently featured in Season 3 of Babylon Berlin on Netflix

Berlin is a destroyed piece of art. I hope it will find a way to former glory.

Why do people do this… it’s why Germans hate Berlin

Albert Speer – Architecture by Leon Krier is an amazing book about Speer and Hitler’s plans to make Berlin into an architecturally neo classical city, after they had won WW2. Thankfully didn’t happen but the models that they made were all photographed and that’s what is in the book. Also pictures of the buildings Speer did build. I highly recommend that book. One of my all time favourite

I suppose the communists didn’t really have a use for a stock exchange. Or was it on the Western side?

Why was it demolished? Surely to demoralised the Germans and destroy links back to their pre war history.
