Benzinestation Auto Palace is a former gas station in Nijmegen, Netherlands. It was commissioned in 1935 by the American oil company Texaco, being completed in 1936. The building has an eye-catching twelve-sided glass window topped by a striking, almost circular, canopy. This canopy was illuminated from below at night, an illumination that according to newspaper reports was visible even from far away. The harmonious combination of rectangular (residential and commercial area) and circular (canopy) forms make the building special. A remarkable feature of the gas station is the square glass light box with a copper "needle" standing 25 meters high, which allows it to be visible from a long distance.

The gas station was shut down in 1977. The building has been a national monument since 1990 and in 1993 the municipality of Nijmegen granted the architect Koos van Lith a permit for the restoration of the station. As a result, the station currently houses its architectural firm.

It reminds me of the newer Mormon temples in Utah and Idaho. I love the building.
