This one is gorgeous. I think it’s currently a hotel.

Stayed here for 2 nights a couple years ago. Hands down the greatest hotel experience of my life. The breakfast buffet with its selection of 20+ yo whiskeys alone was worth the price of admission.

Honestly, sign up for their email list, as well as Aer Lingus’ vacation packages. The one we did was 8 nights in Ireland, all in castles and 4 star hotels (with airfare from the US) for about $1,200 a person.

Ashford itself has some great offseason deals. You can get weekday rates for less than $200 a night. Pricey, but not insane for a special occasion.

It’s used for all the exterior shots of french royal palace in the TV show Reign, which is pretty good actually, but more like a dumbed down version of The Tudors.
