    Does anyone know if this would have been painted in its original form? Or was it just sand colored?

    Fortunately it is not lost! Yes it was brightly coloured, and in fact some parts might even have been covered with gold sheets…

    Inside a church was established, which in turn became a mosque, still in use today, meaning this is, to the best of my knowledge, the only place of worship on earth used for well over 3,000 years.
