    something similar. Its from the imperial castle of Nuremberg. Sadly only in german but atleast its a video

    While neat to look at, I don’t think this is very accurate. Variation of the first example, a Motte-and-Bailey castle were created with wood and/or stone and used until the end of the thirteenth century. Some were also converted into something slightly different with the keep on the Motte. Also, time lines and updated defensive architecture varied a lot depending on region.

    No point in having nice stone castles when you can crush them with cannon.
