It’s one of few “tower houses” in Germany that were quite popular for defensive reasons I have been told. It does not have running water nor electricity except for the solar panel on the roof that got installed because the candles were too dangerous for lighting.
It’s actually not that old, just about 100 years, the guy who built it obviously liked the style. There is also a small drawbridge you have to cross to enter the building. It has 8 stries in total, the upper three are bedrooms and a community room.

I‘m from Germany as well and there’s a tower house in the forest like that not far from where I live as well. It’s not the same one though. 😀
