The Carbide and Carbon building. When it was finished being built in 1929 it was the tallest building in Chicago. The tower is plated in real 24k gold leaf, and was designed by two architect brothers inspired by a green champagne bottle with gold foil wrapping they saw at a party. Art Deco. »
