New building actually looks dope this time though(as compared to a lot that just become parking lots or something)

Christ, when was it demolished exactly? The replacement is yet another bland, soulless eye sore.

Just what that area of london needed! More utter shite.

I love those upper windows.

Some more pics of the old building are found here and the new building here .
The new building has a really nice rooftop garden but personally I feel like the old building had much more character, especially since that area is now full of skyscrapers.

That wasn’t all built in 1921, that metal roof says there were two floors added in the 1980s or 1990s as a last ditch effort to save it.
Maybe some construction defect wrecked it all, who knows. The first floors weren’t that special anyways. They’d barely raise a specter in a third-tier US city.

Eh, london has received far worse architecture at the expense of far better historic buildings before. IMO this particular example is a fairly reasonable exchange

All of London architecture is becoming soulless. It is just following the local culture and people.
